Blueberry compote, Raspberry, Plum. Nice combo of rich fruit with and edge of tartness. All classic secondaries are present: cured meat, black pepper, smoke. Showing the vintage, for sure. I like this expression of Saint-Joseph and think Syrah fans of all regions would find something pleasing in this bottle.

Decanted for 5 hours. At first, ripe cherry and Raspberry dominating the palate. After 5 y hours, dirt, spice, and tannin. This is a young wine and it is not in its prime, but the dirty, abrasive Flavors there pair perfectly with my duck. Give it ten years and check back.

Perfumed core of exotic black fruit with layer upon layer unfolding. Racy, light on its feet structure (not much air yet...) hints of nutmeg cardamom anise. Long layered finish. Tons of years left...
