Superb Syrah blend. First tasted this wine at Tablas Creek in Paso. It was my winner of the tasting. Brought this bottle home, and having it at our new year’s dinner now. Layers of red fruit and some spices, finely balanced, light at 13.5 alc. could drink this all day, all night, and then all day again. 😎. Great food wine.

Jan 2nd, 2024Thanksgiving Paso Robles trip second day first stop. This is a tasting note for its single varietal bottling of Syrah. Not blended! Since I couldn’t find its entry and this is the closest. Vintage 2020. Most Tablas Creek Syrahs went into blends like esprit or cotes every year. But in favorable vintages some particularly classic barrels of Syrah were reserved for this single varietal bottling. Barnyard, clove, black pepper. Fresh blackberry. Medium acidity, grippy elevated tannins.
