Stewed dark fruit, menthol, smoke, black pepper. Ripe, almost candied fruit on the palate with some meaty, peppery notes. Tannins are huge, astringent, and very bitter. That calms down with some air and food, but it's still and monster.

Big, complex wine but the tannins are too bitter for me.
