Blend of 45% Touriga Franca, 30% Tinta Roriz and 25% Tinta Barroca, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruit and earthy herb notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and ripe plum with pepper spice and earthy notes. Firm rustic tannins, medium finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy character.

The "Rewilding Edition" has a slightly different blend (of the same three varieties) from the standard Altano. Dark reddish purple in the glass. Inviting nose and medium palate of dark plum, tart blackberry, and licorice. Juicy (medium plus) acidity and firm-adjacent tannins from entry to medium long finish. While this is definitely a wine the calls for food, the high acidity and medium body make for a great end-of-summer sipping red *if* you are a fan of dark fruit. Drink now through 2024. A bit longer if you can handle low fruit.

I must say: I love, absolutely love, casual wine. There’s something about an inexpensive, above average, good tasting bottle of wine that just makes you feel mischievous after every sip; like you got away with it… if you like that feeling, try this. Plus, can’t beat that label.
