An intensely fruit forward California Cabernet dominated by blackberry, plums, and prunes. Clues of chocolate appear occasionally with even rarer herbal notes of anise and baking spices. Weak tannins strengthen with opening time, providing needed depth. Not my style of Cali Cab, but definitely satisfying.

The 2011. Really surprising how enjoyable it was tonight with family at 910 in La Jolla. Vanilla, Cedar, soft tannins and a nice black fruit compote finish. I liked it more than I expected.
