This full body, smooth and perfectly balanced Canadian Merlot is as good if not better than anything else you will find at its price point. It is proof positive that the Okanagan reds have come of age. Cheers 🇨🇦

A straight up outstanding Canadian red. Bold, dark fruit notes, smooth and well balanced with that softer, more velvety mouthfeel you either love or hate in a Merlot. Prominent cherry, plum and blackberry with a hint of vanilla on the finish. Black Sage by Sumac Ridge in Summerland, BC continues to produce some of my favourite reds. This Merlot is as equally excellent as their Cab Franc.

2012 vintage. Ripe red fruit, and noticeable oak - vanilla and wood. Medium body, fruit forward. No complexity but easy drinking. Oak is a little too obvious for me. Medium plus concentration and finish. Acidity is firm and bright. Decent effort.
