Opened up today, I'll drink it for the next couple of days to highlight the differences and notice the evolution.. but since now I can lightly confirm how much I like this Tenerife 100% Listán Negro from the plot of ungrafted vines "La Solana" which is old over 100 years!

This really does show best with a looooong decant, double decanted on day one, by late afternoon on day 2 it was starting to hit its stride with saline, spicy, volcanic mineral notes on the nose and rounded, ripe red cherry and kola palate and soft but grippy tannin. Can imagine this working well with bbq spare ribs of Sichuan style dishes

Such a lively fresh wine with tons of black fruit and a good deal of funk (in the best way). Bright acidity, loads of minerality, this wine begs for food. Really well done and such an incredible value, plus it's interesting considering the region and the vineyards. Truly a volcanic wine. 2012 vintage

2011. Pepper, plum and bright acidity with an interesting volcanic mineral component that is hard to describe.

On the nose this has far more bright, upfront fruit of the mark, rich, ripe and expressive with a rich soil and cherry/blueberry tart. Dimpled fruit, textured, rich, cherry compote and clear, fresh blackberry. Light, silky slightly chalky tannin
