Pale red in color. The nose presents earthy notes of wet forrest floor with a hint of gunpowder and some savory mushroom. A bit of a fizz when it hits the tongue followed by rhubarb and raspberry. The mouthfeel is chalky, so I’m guessing this is unfiltered. The wine needs to open up a bit for the finish to appear, which comprises tart red fruit. Medium minus tannins, low alcohol, and medium plus acid. A funky little wine. Sort of beaujolais nouveau. Maybe a summer pre-meal sipper? Might want to serve it slightly chilled.
