This definitely needed to open up. Upon first taste it was questionable. But then it was after we had the Francis Coppola Merlot.
After it opened up … much better.

Unique blend from South Africa that has that slight natural funk but is otherwise velvety and well-balanced. Definitely on the jammy side so maybe good with a lighter meal, dessert, or on its own. Bought at BP.

I love blends like this! 2/3 of the grapes here are almost always used in tiny amounts with major grapes, but rarely blended with each other. This one had beautiful floral aromas, with some cranberry and pomegranate. On the palate, raspberry, strawberry, and cherry flavors pop out. Great pairing with a Thanksgiving-in-February turkey dinner. 56% Cinsault, 29% Syrah, 15% Carignan. 2/20/22.
