May 12th, 2015Pale pink color with orange highlights and intriguing red berry, e arthy and a bit of smoky aromas. On the palate it's medium bodied and dry with medium low acidity and red currant, raspberry, and strawberry flavors. Medium finish.

Sep 5th, 2015Stinson Vineyard 2017 Rosé of Mourvèdre (SRP $20): This rosé is the epitome of an enjoyable, food-friendly wine. A brilliant pink hue, it leads with a core of soft red fleshed fruits—namely watermelon and strawberry, followed by fresh-cut rose petals, citrus peel, and a trace of savory herb. In the mouth, it’s light-bodied and poised, rounded out by a zesty, saline-laced acidity. Fruit was sourced from Farmer’s Rest Vineyard in Henrico Virginia and Horton Vineyards in Gordonsville, Virginia. Produced from 100% Mourvèdre, the fruit from Horton was planted by the late Dennis Horton in 1988. Mr. Horton planted some of the first Rhone grapes in Virginia, including Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, and many other varieties that went on to be widely popular in the state.
