Stewart Cellars
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Decanted 2 hours - fantastic - first time - I am believer that these small family vineyards in Napa take great pride, care and love in crafting their wines and we all get to sample excellence from their work - notes for the wine are a deep garnet color - Smells of vanilla, blackberry, and dark cherries with full-bodied palate - tannins are plush and powerful, but not overbearing, giving this wine a beautiful structure - I decided to drink now and it is fine but will get better as ages - plenty of years left - simple words that I can use to describe are pure pleasant and beautifully balanced - all smiles!!!!!!!

2 people found it helpfulAug 21st, 2016It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious Cabernet from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a short purplish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, coke, coffee, light vinaigrette, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, light plums, cedar, chocolates, vanilla, leather, earth, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, graphite, coke and pencil lead.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great Napa Cabernet from a great vintage. Showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show the big tannins. After 4 hours it is very tannic.
Still young and needs another 5 to 10 years of bottle time.
Alcohol is well integrated by now. Very tasty and rich.
Thank you Scott for sharing.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
$75.
