Stag's Leap Wine Cellars
Hands of Time Napa Valley Red Wine
#MERLOTTHURSDAY
This Napa red blend is always enjoyable. Showing black fruits with wood, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, coffee and mocha.
Dry on the palate, big, bold and very fruity, with a teeth staining color.
A good pop and pour kind of wine, and gets better as it opens up (2 hours).
This 3 year old is showing mild complexity and a great mouthfeel. Still young and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly and show more complexity.
A blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged for 17 months in French oak barrels.
14.8% alcohol by volume .
92 points.
$35.

Dense purple-red. Black currant and mint aromas on initial pour. Black currant, cherry and mint flavors with a hint of raspberry. Slightly drying astringency which persists, seed bitterness emerges after a couple of hours. Reasonable Cab Sauv blend, excellent value

Mar 5th, 2020Nicely balanced blend with Cabernet on the forefront. Objectively perhaps a 90 Point wine but having it at “Starbucks Evenings” at LAX on way to Iceland earns a little sumpin’ extra.

Oct 16th, 2018Beautiful ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Great fruity nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, smoke, chocolates, leather, earth, peppercorn, spices, dark coffee and pencil lead.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs. Smooth and velvety.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherry pie, tobacco, herbs, spices, light vegetables, chocolates, mocha, cola, peppercorn, leather and earth.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a wonderful Red Blend from Napa. Showing very nice balance and interesting complexity. I really liked the nose and the finish. Elegant and gentle mouthfeel. Delicious.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (1 hour).
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and good with food too. I paired it with beef short ribs.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Aged for 17 months in French oak barrels.
Thank you, Nishad for sharing.
