Had the same night as the '59 Charles Krug. Very interesting as well, but not as compelling as the Krug. Both tasted a fraction of their age.

Magnum 1979 Stag's Leap Cask 23 CS. Big group dinner at Tap w RR and J&Viv M during staycation. Did not decant very long at all and poured alongside the '97 Chateau Montelena CS out of Magnum as well. Despite some rich, beautiful wines that followed, this was the surprise and hands down fave of the night. Still had fruit on it, but mellow, as were the other notes of earth and graphite. No harsh edges. Spectacular.
