Last up on the vertical tasting. The 2017 is definitely the fruitiest with the most refined sugar like notes. Cranberry on the nose. Upfront I get some black cherry with a nice hint of turbinado sugar. Slightly bitter like tonic water. Acid on it is a mild lime. Light juicy and lip puckering. A little young, but I expect it to open up a little more as it breathes.

Dec 27th, 2020Next year up; strawberry, soft florals and maple on the nose. Light jammy/marmalade flavor. Maybe even a little tart blueberry. There’s a spice in there that I can’t quite put my finger on. Thinner bodied than the 2015, but super long legs. Much more heat on the finish, almost a jalapeño even. Livelier but a little less complex compared to the 2015

Dec 27th, 2020Pepper and blackberry on the nose. Lots of acid upfront. Slate on the mid palate with a quick hint of pomegranate. Really soft body. Slow buildup of heat on the finish. Pretty nice and balanced with lots of nuance.
