The last time I had this was in 2018 and said it wasn’t ready. It’s ready. Dusty, chocolate covered cherries. Give it 1.5 hours to breath and enjoy. I love SMV.

2012 tasted in 12/2018. Full bodied, dark purple, concentrated. Very fragrant perfectly ripe, ie not overly ripe, black fruits, blueberries, sweet tobacco, vanilla. Palate follows the nose with great driving acidity that gives it a very long finish.

Dec 25th, 2018Chocolate covered cherries with a spine. This needs time, but still really fun. Interesting contrast to drink side by side with the 2006 which was supple where this has power. I wish I could have the 6 years from now version of this tonight.
