Holding up exceptionally well. Put up against any white of similar age. Rich and mouth coating but varietally correct and bright. Yum!

This was actually my first time having this wine from Spottswoode. I expected it to be quite lean with ripping acidity, but was pleasantly surprised by the soft profile courtesy of small oak usage. Gorgeous limestone, grapefruit and lemon thyme aromatics. Nicely acidic and light bodied with a tart finish highlighted by crushed rock and lime juice. A modern take on Bordeaux Blanc. Thanks @Mark Flesher

This was one of the best Sauv Blanc‘s I’ve tasted in Napa. Instant show stopper. Time on oak really softened the edges and profile. Apple, stone fruit. Nose did not match the taste, which is why I did a double take.

Gala apple mixed with caramelized grapefruit. Super clean and fresh. Loved it with Angele’s Boudin Blanc

Spottswoode’s 2017 Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from both Napa (36%) and Sonoma (64%) and was released this week. Three different methods of fermentation are employed with most occurring in either French oak or stainless steel barrels but a small amount apportioned to concrete eggs.

Noticeably perfumed and almost opulent in its intensity with layers of potent orange blossom, salted lime, ripe nectarine, and tangerine peel, with a distinctive mint oil that dances on the periphery. The vibrancy is dialed way up, but the lines are clean and the edges are smooth, ultimately yielding an extraordinary Sauvignon Blanc.

One of my favorite CA whites - grassy, boisterous, kiwi skins and sweet herbs.
