The former Rotwein is now called “Slate Red” and it’s fantastic. German Pinot Glou Glou. Candied cherries, some citrus notes, spice, earthy slate tones. Gorgeous high toned aromas. But deep and focused. Smells like $30 wine. But it’s not! Palate is terrific. Huge fruit, loads of energy and purity. Mid season perfectly ripened cherries and lovely freshness. Barely there tannins and lovely sweetness. What a value!
