Gaonnuri means center of the universe (as in NYC), in Korean. No argument from me! The most amazing Korean cuisine I've ever tasted. This Souvrain is a mighty fine compliment. Priced at $52.

Pretty decent Merlot; nice tannin and rich fruit with fresh flowers and a little cut grass in the nose. Finishes nicely with a hint of vanilla and a tiny bit of cinnamon. Good sipping wine. Maureen says "It tastes like dark fruit, maybe cherries. Very pleasant; would go with a lot of different foods."

Dec 6th, 2014Very nice Merlot. Jammy and floral, but it has a nice amount of tannin and spice. Pretty well balanced for a Merlot. Drank well with grilled barbecue chicken. May be even better with a little more bottle age. Overall pretty good.

Merlot doesn't deserve it's bad rap. This one is cab-like in flavor, but softer on the tannins.
