Maté Brachetto
Popped and poured. The 2022 “Maté” is 100% Brachetto from a 2-ish acre vineyard in Treiso. The wine pours a striking pale ruby color; almost rosé-like. Medium- viscosity with no staining of the tears. Some slight tartrates on the last glass. On the nose, this is super floral right now with orange blossom, raspberries, alpine herbs and crushed gravel. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose and finishes with a mineral and floral driven flourish. A perfect pairing with a warm fall day with a light lunch at Via Farina. Drink now.

Aug 11th, 2024Oddball wine. Dry brachetto. First time having it in years. Candied strawberries, red currants, rose hips, roses and loads of florals. With these aromas and flavors, my brain still tricks me into thinking it’s sweet even though it’s not. Some unexpected tannins.
