"Odedi"

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Tart on the nose with raspberries, plums, cranberries, earth, wood, forest floor, smoke, green pepper, peppercorn, leather, licorice and dark chocolates.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with cranberries, raspberries, vegetables, earth, tobacco leaf, wood, licorice, spices, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Medium finish with firm tannins, black pepper and bitter herbs.

This 7 year old, Israeli Merlot, is still unbalanced and not one to have by itself. Better with food and a little bitter on the ending.

Needs 60 minutes of airtime to open up properly, and 2 to 5 years in the bottle to mature. This will be a nice wine in a few years.

100% Merlot grapes from a Single Vineyard (Tal Shahar) in the Judean mountains. Aged in oak barrels for 18 months.

14% alcohol by volume.
