A deep gold color. The tasting notes say elderflower on the nose, I got lemon and honey. A lot of crisp apple on the palate with some sweet spice anchored by a flinty, wet stone minerality that really all comes together on the surprisingly long finish. Very well balanced. Somehow refined and rustic at the same time.
Our server said that Hungarian wines are "the new big thing" right now. I can't find any evidence to support this bold claim, but this is Los Angeles and I guess you need to say things like that.
This was definitely a memorable wine that stuck with me since I drank it three days ago. Paired beautifully with a lamb belly salad and salted cod over polenta. So who knows, maybe a Hungarian wine moment is on the horizon after all.

May 11th, 2019Bosc pears, golden apples, quince, saline, elderflower, carnations, honey. Rounded acid, oily texture, full bodied, long honeyed, apple, floral, salty finish. Beautiful golden color, felt like the salinity of an aged Riesling added to a Vouvray Chenin.
