Pretty nose, sweet almost confected cherry. The nose speaks for the pallet. Beautiful super fresh cherry and red berry.
Good tannin structure and texture. Very enjoyable.

2010 Some Young Punks Squid's Fist. Fun little wine. Sangiovese and Shiraz blend from South Australia. For $20 it's a nice little deal.

Happily surprised - I expected a big wine and punchy tannins, but the overall mouthfeel was medium bodied and velvety, recalling Merlot. None of the usual cherry flavors from Sangiovese, rather ripe strawberries, plums, and a hint of pepper/spice. A fun wine to drink on its own or with food.

Very fruity, deep berry, and spice on the nose. Secondary hints of pepper, vanilla, and oak. Fruity, earthy, slightly smokey, and fairly tart. Light acidity. High alcohol and short finish.
