Medium ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, blackberry, ripe mulberry, mushroom, wet earth, funky mineral; dry, medium plus acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors of black cherry, black raspberry, mulberry, mushroom, forest floor; medium plus finish, concentrated ripe fruit flavors, but very well balanced, outstanding

Savory and spicy.

10 miles from the Pacific Ocean. This strikes a nice balance between its racy red fruit and some spicy depth.

A little controversial - some found it excessively earthy.

Juicy reminiscent of dark berries but not jammy, closely followed by a pleasant burst of umami. Very drinkable.

Aromatic, medium body, cassis, pepper, savory, a real treat. Santa Maria Valley.

Solid drinker

Delicious ripe red fruit with notes of vanilla, ground black pepper and dried parsley. Much fruitier on the palate and some sweet green herbs
