Snowden
The Ranch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark ruby violet. Blackberry, graphite, and a slight herbal note on the nose. Dense and concentrated red and black fruits on the palate with prominent, chunky tannins and long, gravelly finish. Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot fermented with native yeasts then aged 19 months in 50% new French oak. Made by Diana Snowden wife of Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. Would undoubtedly benefit from more time in the bottle. 14.5% ABV. $50.

Good Cabernet, with intense fruit flavors and a little sweet. Not complex but a well-made Cabernet.

Have to let this open up a little because it starts off a little tight. Notes of tobacco, leather, spice and some dark fruit. After a while more fruit comes out though still a little tight.

Doing a vintage compare. Same wine...2013 now, 2012 tomorrow...
Fairly opaque crimson color. Wide clear alcohol rim. Evergreen nose with dark red fruit. Perfect body. Medium plus. A little white pepper mid palate, and ends with hot drying tannins.

Dark and rich....almost like an ink. Bursting with flavor after 15-20 minutes of air.
