Pale ruby. Red berries, tomato leaf, white and red flowers, hints of grass and pencil shavings, and minerality. Elevated~high acidity, medium minus tannins of medium grained texture. It is produced entirely from the single acre 'Mechior Kemper' block at ~800 feet elevation on volcanic rhyolite soils. Wild yeast fermentation, aged 17 months in French oak barrels 50% new 50% old. Bottled unblended, unfiltered, unfined on April 13, 2020. Abv at 13.8%. 4200 bottles produced. 2018 vintage.

Clean and sleek. Has a bit of that licorice and molasses action Franc is known for. Bit of the vanilla and sweetness that Napa oak provides so well. Tannins are nice. A good enough wine, but not my thing.
