Dark ruby with medium plus concentration. Lush cassis and raspberry on the palate! Mint, violet, baking spices, mocha. High influence of oak: smoke, vanilla, toast, spices. Moderate plus acidity, high tannin, moderate to moderate plus body.

Always excited to taste a Syrah, but this was a letdown. I really wanted to like it. It lacked the bright blueberry, grilled meat or "animal" notes that are Syrah's signatures. It verges more on tomato leaf and stems. Yes, vintage 2011 was a challenge for the reds, but I still think this could have been better. I love the label
