Silver Ghost
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Really nice Cab. Started off very fruity, then melted into this lovely spice and well intergraded oak.

May 13th, 2020Met with Silver Ghost and Montagu Wines owner and winemaker Weston Eidson to taste through the new vintages. I’ve stated before, but Weston is a close friend and someone who I help with tastings/marketing from time to time. Because of the above, I’ll refrain from giving the wines a rating, and hope my reviews fill in the blank for you.
When comparing to the 2016, I find this to be more plush, soft and closer to pop and pour. Slightly more concentrated. Held strong through 36 hours. Roasted and dried black cherries, sweet tobacco, blackberries and cedar aromatics. Compact but flavorful on the palate. Added notes of baked mixed berry pie, licorice, graphite and dark cocoa on the palate. Obviously biased, but I truly feel this is an absurd deal for Napa cabernet at <$35.

Ok not great, chewy enough but has that metallic mouthfeel a lot of sub premium cabs have
