There’s truly lovely red & black fruit here that is soft and perfectly ripe, along with some earthiness after breathing for a while. The balance is off though and the heat 14.5% abv just screams.

So this is surprising. Went to Siduri w@Steve Haro several years ago. It was one of my must visits. The tasting was awesome. We tasted like 20 different wines. But I was so disappointed. It was the place I wanted to visit more than any other and there wasn’t a single wine I would’ve purchased. This is surprisingly enjoyable. It’s young and lacking in complexity, but vibrant and energetic. Tart strawberry and raspberry with some earth and floral notes. Really long finish. Won’t mistake it for old world but it works.

2017 Santa Barbara- fruity and oaky. This is a more simple representation of a pinot noir, but still good. Bright bing cherry and a bit of oak though not overpowering. Some rock, no age worthy flavor. Drink now, don't hold. Light, easy drinking. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A good pick for those looking to try a pinot noir, though perhaps not suitable for one doing a deep dive.
