Sichel
Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blend
Lemon peel, grapefruit, grass, wax candle. A little watered down tasting and overly high acidity. Probably a vintage related issue.

Feb 25th, 2016Very nice. Typical Sauternes with nice balance and vibrant fruit. Needs to age a little.

Mar 13th, 2022Nose: White grape juice, pineapple, perhaps a dash of guava (?), orange blossom, caramel, yogurt, gentle flowers (white, fruity flowers), white tea, honeycomb, graham crackers. Smooth, much less acid than expected. Honestly just tastes like a sweet white wine. I am less impressed than I expected. Good, not superb. Tastes like honey, pear, pineapple, marshmallow (vanilla), gentle acidity, a little bitterness, short finish. Kind of disappointed, I love Sauternes. This is atypical.

Nov 8th, 2021Drinking this is like coming back to an old girlfriend. There still a lot of the reasons there why you fell in love with her in the first place. Drinking it and exploring the taste you can get with fruit and cheese is always an adventure. Honey and caramelized peach flavors with not a cloying finish in sight.

Apr 4th, 2019Beautiful liquid gold coloring in the glass. Varietally correct nose of white flowers, apricots, pears, and delicious honey. Well balanced, with high acidity and only medium sweetness. I typically find these sweet wines to be way too candied and cloying for my tastes but I’ve been proven wrong before and I’m usually happy when I am. Lemon and orange peel, butterscotch, grapefruit marmalade, baked apples, and toffee on the palate. The finish is shorter than I would like but leaves you with a nice little vanilla exit.
