Nice balance of fruit and herbaceousness. Quite a contrast in style to their Shiraz.

Great effort Shingleback! The estate Cabernet from McClaren in South Australia is a fantastic QPR. Fairly peppery nose, followed by mulled berries, mint and red apple skin. The pallet was very clean feeling, lean in structure with notes of black plum, cracked peppercorn, melted dark chocolate, eucalyptus leaf, and a fairly quick, refreshing finish. I feel like it is a perfect little sneak peak of the 2012 D-Block single vineyard for $60!

Good flavor, smooth and hints of fruit. Not too bad for $20

Softer up front than the Shiraz, got some chocolate and a soft lingering finish of tannins. Recommended with a spicier red meat meal, bolognese or lasagne.
