Shelton Vineyards
Estate Bottled Cabernet Franc
🔥 love this stuff, legit NC CF which I’ve had through the years and it is just getting better and better. Such freshness, vivid flavors: just picked cherries, florals, sweet herbaceous notes, white pepper, varietally correct. Med weight, structured but pliable tannins, juicy acidity really conveying flavors thru to impressive finish and all for $15

Mar 8th, 2024Bellissimo! Found the ‘14 in the way back of the shelf and for $12 - felt pretty good about it… deep dark ruby w/copper highlight, stunning nose of cherry Jolly Rancher, vanilla, cassis, white pepper & moist Earth. Soft plush velvety on the mid palate, gorgeous, seamless brimming w/pure beam of cherry & raspberry, vanilla and hints of pepper & herbaceousness. Tannins were so finely grained, they blended & melded into the wine beautifully harmonizing with fresh, lively acidity . Bump for QPR

Aug 9th, 2021Mighty fine Cab Franc from NW North Carolina w/some age to it: bricking on a ruby/garnet color with soaring mint soaked cherry, white pepper, bell pepper, herbaceous & forest floor, mushrooms & damp Earth. Interspersed bolts of juicy acidity alongside chewy tannins, lacked focus & balance, but still showed fairly well. Steak & pommes frites - Yes Sir
