Reserve Finger Lakes Cabernet Sauvignon

Had a sample in the tasting room earlier in the week. Loved it then. Loved it again.

What can I say? Steve Shaw is a genius. It was good with the veggie lasagna, the duck, and the elk burger.

Not quite as dazzling as expected. Still decent.

The best red wines in the U.S. Northeast come from Shaw!

Color is light red for a cab sav. Nose doesn't have a predominant smell of anything in particular but makes me salivate. The tongue is a great balance of acid, tannin, and fruit. Not overly alcoholic or barrel. Really nice with the aged goat cheese. Made the fennel more lively in the dried salumi. Bright fruit and juicy. $30. 2008
