A museum release from the winery - I bought this at a Shaw and Smith tasting in Brisbane a few years ago. An asparagus note initially which blew off. Asian spices, raspberry, earthy mineral notes on nose, carrying through to the medium to full bodied palate. A nice balance between cool climate and warm climate characteristics. Finishes with a little astringency.

A lovely savoury plummy nose with sappy rich notes. Mature cool climate Adelaide Hills Shiraz but this from a warmer year making it a more traditional SA Shiraz. I could have said some whole bunch fermentation but apparently none. From the Shaw and Smith maturation programme and purchased a year or 2 ago. Finishes with an astringent note.

This is the 2009 Shaw and Smith Shiraz not the Chardonnay at the Shaw & Smith comparative Shiraz tasting. Lovely nose of savoury plum. No whole bunch which the 2015 and later vintages now employ. Richer and more traditional SA Shiraz in the 2009.

This wasn't where I was told it would be. Spinning a yarn of a very hot vintage, super pruney.
