2019 vintage. Medium body. Nice spice finish. Thorough concentration mixed with thoughtful elegance throughout. Really nice now. Generally, a fan of the Shane Pinots. 3.15.23.

For the price this Pinot phenomenal. Ordered one bottle, they mistakenly heard two, but we were not complaining! Very smooth finish and great black fruit. Very smooth tannins. Was a crowd pleaser so I may be adding this to the home selection.

Meh. OK, so the nose of this wine has definitely shown some improvement. No funky gym locker nose this time on this bottle. However, where I really appreciate mostly fruit notes and maybe some other herbal or minty characteristics on the nose (all of the above that I get on this wine), the palate kind of kills it. This time the wine seems to have a better NOSE than PALATE. Seems to be a "drier" pinot....herbal raspberry and earl grey tea. But there is a metallic aspect to the front of this which is very sharp and because of it the wine just didn't really develop. I DO NOT believe it is a cork taint, as I sort of noticed it with the last one. The wine seems to have quite a bit of heat on the finish. Another person said blindly "it tastes a little older than it is" and I agree with that. Almost kind of developing some secondary characteristics. I am wondering if this isn't just the wine starting to show its age, although I would imagine that to be kind of a rarity given this is a 13. There was something not quite right. I would rate this an 87, not quite what I thought it would be. Just different.
