Seven Sinners
The Ransom Old Vines Lodi Petite Sirah
Enjoyable, but ultimately forgettable Petit Syrah. Enjoyed this at my favorite wine bar (Naked Grape in Wilton Manors, FL). It's full-bodied, and definitely fruit forward.

Color: deep purple
Nose: flowers, violet, greenery like veggies, raspberry.
Palate/finish: no start to the wine, hits mid to end Palate but then dies straight away. Honestly very watery.
Opinion: nothing wrong with the wine, drink it if you have it. Will not become any better.

Very smooth. Even my hubby who is not a dry wine fan drank it down.

Gorgeous nose of blueberries, blackberries, figs, smoke, acetone, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, oak, vanilla, bell pepper, tobacco and coffee.
Full bodied and bold, with high acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices and peppercorn.
Medium finish with soft tannins and tart cherries.
An average red wine. Good right out of the bottle but died after an hour. Lots of vegetable notes on the palate, too much for my taste. A Simple Petite Sirah with a great nose. The palate is a little disappointing, though.
13 5 % alcohol by volume.

Big heavy bottle with a striking gold rush type style label. Lowish ABV at 13.9%. Nice deep maroon color. Not quite the almost bluish to deep purple that Petite Sirah can show. Aroma is crushed foliage of the forest and carnitas meets tart wild berries of the bush. Smooth and fruit forward flavors. Bit of licorice and anise, but more blueberries 🫐 and Australian red licorice than ink and tannins of the bombastic Sirah style. This is drinkable and fun though. Wonder who the seven sinners are?…
