Seven Rings
Oak Knoll District Cabernet Sauvignon
A very enjoyable Oakville Napa Cabernet. Showing black fruits with chocolates, oak, vanilla, licorice and cola.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
Very enjoyable by itself or with food. Tasty and extremely fruity.
Might need a few years in the bottle to chill.
Much better than their Oak Knoll District Cabernet.
13.7% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
$40.

Had high hopes. Barnyard and sulfur was strong and off putting. After some aeration, it blew off but there wasn’t much else to it. ;/

Nov 10th, 2017So smooth and way to easy to drink. You want to gulp it down or stick a long straw in the bottle and sip away. A perfect California cab.

Nice fruity nose of black currants, cherries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, licorice, oak, vanilla, alcohol, cola, leather, light green vegetables, herbs, chocolates, bell pepper, tobacco, earth and black pepper.
Medium plus in body and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, oak, green vegetables, spices, peppercorn, dark chocolates and tobacco.
Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tart raspberries.
This is an enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
Simple with some complexity,
but I would love to have more structure here.
A Good party wine that did not change much in the decanter.
A little flat for my taste, and might not be worth the $20. However, drinkable and enjoyable by itself or with food.
I would give it one more year in the bottle, to chill down, and get rid of the green notes, but I'm not sure it has enough in it to carry it through.

Dark ruby color with aromas of ripe jammy dark fruit. The palate shows ripe blackberries and black cherries with hints of spice. The tannins are somewhat gritty. The wine is full bodied with a short spicy finish. Disappointing, overpriced.

May 19th, 2016Somewhat mild-medium body cab with a smooth finish, easy start and a good mix of flavors from start to finish. It’s not a dry wine and for a cab sav it seemed more mild for what I typically drink. This is a great wine for dishes that are not crazy robust or your not looking for that massive contrast of tastes that a full bodied wine would provide. I would buy again and probably will.

Apr 11th, 2018Plum, blackberry, cherry, herbs, fig, green vegetable. Oak influence is subtle. Silky and good weight on the palate but lack of substance. Paired with roasted duck and it was delicious.

Jun 27th, 2017Solid Cab, expected a bit more for the price. Well-balanced tannins, pleasant finish.

Jun 2nd, 2017Pretty color- like the skin of a black plum. Dark, ripe berries on the nose with just a hint of fresh mint. Cherry kirsch and some black pepper on the palate. The tannins are smooth. Med finish.
