Selbach-Oster
Graacher Domprobst Spätlese Riesling
Medium lemon color with pronounced, developing aromas of petrol, wet stone, blossom, lemon, lime and toast. Medium dry, high acidity, low alcohol, medium body. intense flavors of nectarines, wet stone, flint, blossom, petrol, peach, marmalade and toast. Long finish and outstanding quality. Drink now but has the potential for further aging. A dazzling example of a mature riesling with a still great future ahead.

Apr 5th, 2019(This is Selbach-Oster Riesling Spätlese Feinherb Mosel Graacher Dompropst "Alte Reben" 2012) Nose of apple, peach, and lemon curd. Crisp, with great acidity and just a touch of sweetness. Drink now through 2020.

Oct 20th, 2014Under screwcap. We had two bottles, one under Stelvin and the other under cork, which made for a nice comparison. The Stelvin bottle showed a little reduction at first, and was a little lighter in color, but was also a little fresher and fuller through the mid-palate. With air, the differences, which weren't that significant to begin with, became even less prominent, but I'll give the edge to the Stelvin version.
Both had nice acidity to balance the sweetness and were pleasures to drink, with lots of life remaining.
