Seavey Vineyard
Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon
Another great Classic Wine Happy Hour in the books! Always a treat to have a designated day each month where guys can pull out some unique bottles!
I think @Keith Fisher brought this, so correct me if I'm wrong! Simply outstanding. I've never had the chance to enjoy Seavey before, but I know it is a Napa gem, so I need to seek some out. Great fruit medley...blueberries, blackberries, hint of black cherries. Fig and truffle oil too. Awesome!

Great wine that ages really well. Very pleasant nose of blackberries, salvia, char, slight whiskey, vanilla, and baker's chocolate. Smooth silky tannins and a considerably long finish.

Nov 22nd, 2014At 22 years of age, the thing that I was most impressed about is that it still had a rather dark crimson appearance in the decanter. Although not as dark as the 06 Bucella or 12 Progeny Rouge, this one had just about zero bricking or browning, and had JUUUUST a tiny amount of age on the nose. Just enough to intrigue you! This wine entered with just enough blackberry and pie spice. Green olive and green pepper notes in the middle. Finished rather nicely. Some pepper but mostly spice and olive notes dominated the finish with a little bit of grilled meat flavor. Nice wine.
