Schloss Vollrads
Rheingau Riesling
Floral, peachy and jammy (honey). Acidic but also sweet... ugh 😑

Oct 27th, 2017You were apricot, nectarine, mandarin orange with honeysuckle and orange blossom and a hint of yellow apple. Others thought you were chalky and slatey, but i missed that. You were off dry and that sweetness masked your high acidity nicely. You were medium minus alcohol and a medium plus finish. You were Schloss Vollrads 2012 Riesling Rheingau

Refreshing metals on the nose with green apples, lime, citrus and light petrol.
Semi sweet and tangy on the palate with grapefruit, lemon, mango and green apple.
Long finish with sweet apples and tangy limes.
Bold and semi buttery .
Nicely balanced with fruits complementing the acids and create a nice tangy finish with slightly bitter almonds to make it more interesting.
Great Riesling. Very recommended.
10% alcohol by volume.

Straightforward and enjoyable entry-level wine from the world's (possibly) oldest winery. "Medium-sweet." One of a handful of German estates whose name double as the vineyard, hence no village or vineyard designation on the label. Rheingau
