Golden orange but decent clarity. Petrol, honey, peach and ginger. Drier than expected for an old ass Auslese--probably cuz of the super high acid.

Color is ahead of its age with darker brown tones. The nose is on the heavier side with rubber, ripe mango, pineapple and shoe polish. One the palate it's deliciously honeyed, reminds of some aged Sauternes. Very good bottle, almost past its prime so drink it now if you can get a hold of one.

Classic Rheingau riesling. Viscous, full and dense with notes of dried peach and rose. A little new pool toy as well.
