Deep and dark ruby red. Layered nose with sage, aniseed, tons of gunpowder, olives, black cherries, and cassis. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus body. Complex palate with notes of black cherries, black currants, mocha, dark bitter cocoa and some gunpowder. Long and lingering finish. Definitely not an over alcoholic Cabernet at only 13.8% on the bottle. Drink till 2028.

Feb 7th, 2018Second of the blind tasting wines this weekend. A little disappointed in how it showed, maybe it had to do with storage since we did not get this bottle through the estate.
Deep garnet red with some bricking on the edges. Soft and tired nose with chalk, tomato leaves, a bit woody and green. More red berries and plums on day two. More fresh notes on the palate rather than powerful. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium plus body. Notes of red cherries, herbs, a bit of spice and cherry tomatoes on the palate. More spices on day two. Balanced acidity and good structure. Medium plus to long finish with notes of mint and minerals. Drink till 2022.
With our next bottle we will not decant, this one was given almost two hours.

Love this even more than the 2012. Super dark purplish red with high viscosity. Complex nose with layers, starting with black and blue fruits, baking spices, and boysenberries. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Love the complexity and layers on this palate, it never stops getting interesting. Tons of black and blue fruits, black currants, cassis, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Long and lingering finish. Great value for a higher end Napa Cabernet at $85.00. Drink till 2038.
