Big bold fruit and oak. Not my style of wine and I was in the mood. James Berry vineyard clearly producing a better wine.

Camphor alcoholic nose on pop, totally gone after 2 hour decant, you feel the alcohol a little but it is very approachable and lush, I prefer these wines with some bottle age and this is a 10 year old beauty.

We had a bit of a debate on rating this one. It's terrific - so far above most wines - with amazing arimas of blackberries, kirsch, and a trace of iodine. The wine has a bit of a hole in the mid-palate - not sure where that's coming from - but otherwise it's fantastic with an evolving, pretty much seamless finish. Will probably continue to develop for a few more years...but why wait?

2005 from magnum. By his wine is in a great spot, especially after an hour decant. sweet and meaty. Grenache adds a nice punch. I think for my palate, it is in the hedonistic window. Balcony did not get in way at all. Great pairing with BBQ.

‘15 years in and the bacon fat will go great with my fried eggs tomorrow morning. Saxum ages very well.
