No fruit to be found. Extracts squeezed from river rocks, earth and forest floor. All coming together into a dry elixir with a spicy edge. It kept evolving while we were drinking it. Don’t know how the grand finally would be because the bottle was empty too soon.

Ahhh. Mmm 😋. We were reminded why we like this wine so much. The Stones Speak Estate Syrah. Concentrated dark, earthy, mineral drippings squeezed from grapes of Syrah grown in the rocks district on the Or WA border. Basically a mile wide strip of a thick layer of river rock. We discovered it many years ago. Last night the bottle started to speak ‘take me, take me’ 😁. Rounded dark tobacco tannins became one with the burned earthy fruit extracts and a soft but lingering finish.

Intense, dense dark fruit with a baked jam edge. But turned rather flat, no depth and lost vibrancy.
