Murray Darling Sagrantino
Victoria, Australia
A 2017 Sangratino from Australia. Pinot like with an earthy, stewed rhubarb, hint of fennel nose, sour cherry palate and a bit peppery on the initial approach. Cloudy, unfiltered. We had it chilled and paired it with a spicy prawn puttanesca pasta.

Apr 3rd, 2017Definitely some extra points here for enjoyment. Initially there was a slight spritz which thankfully blew off after about two hours but boy did this come back from the dead. Pinot-like sour cherry juice character with intent and density. Wholebunch feels, forest fruits and spiced blood plum. Cloudy and really, really juicy. It's not the type of wine I could see getting better with age but I don't think that's it's purpose. Get at it with an extra large glass
