11 years on - an appealing sourness with good structure & length - not bad!

Notes of wood varnish. Medium to light weight palate. Not overly complex. Some sappiness. I think Beechworth is much better at Chardonnay than Pinot in my tasting experiences which include some old Giaconda Pinots as well. 16.5

Magnificent, in its prime with such complex earthy savory flavors.

This is structured, backward, and serious. Not even close to ready - reminds me of Rippon in structure. Core of savoury red fruit is shrouded in acid and tannin at present, but balance and integration speak to a great wine in the making. Good in 5 yrs, better in 10.

Sour cherries, and plumb, with a spicy character. Very good structure. Not super long but decent splash of tannin and acid would allow to age.

The wine that made me sit up and notice. First time I bought Savaterre. Understated plums and cherries slight char silky tannins. The greatest thing? The structure and balance for an unknown Pinot now at 12 yrs old and still fresh. Amazing.
