Purple red, very good clarity, medium pigment extraction. Cherry, raspberry aromas with some barrel wood. On initial pour, cola, black pepper and sour plum. Soft mouthfeel but slightly bitter finish. Needs time to open. After two hours, flavors resolve into tart plum and some cola with slight pomegranate finish, mild skin astringency, good balance, almost no bitterness. A different take from previous vintages but solid rendition of the variety.

Revisiting the vintage. Plum and cola flavors predominate in initial pour. High acidity prompts the “subtle earthiness and hints of rhubarb” mentioned on the label. Black pepper finish. One of my favorite Cabernet Francs from Washington state, ever.

Dense purple red, medium to high pigment extraction. Plum, cherry and black currant aromas. Rounded cherry flavor with lengthy, almost syrupy mouthfeel. Decanting should bring out additional flavors, including plum and cola. Spearmint and black pepper aftertaste. Nice layers to this one

Very good clarity, purple. Aromas and flavors of blueberry, blackberry, black pepper. Paired exceedingly well with cocoa and California Chile beef with mushrooms, zucchini and fingerling potatoes, a perfect pairing

Basic label. Smells of stewed fruits and horses. Flavors are a bit short, but still heavy on the bitter. Tannins come too. Herbs and tart stuff.

Great wine. Fresh, with great acidity. Definitely needs air (or time). Was much better on day 2.
