Not a bad wine (well made and so on) but all and all not that aromatic on the nose than on the palate. Rhône style of spicy. But to much spice which makes it a bit unpleasant on my palate (one way intense mineral spice forward) I wonder about that vulcanic soil...

a delicious sub-$20 bottle. rich and weighty with blackberries and leather. Canary Island stone backs up the fruit to keep balance and keep it from being cloying or jammy.

Another hit. I rated this earlier and found it to be lackluster. Good thing I gave it a second chance. After it warmed up a little and had about 30 minutes to breathe, it was delightful! Meaty and fruity nose, with a great mineral character. White pepper, some herbal and red floral notes. Good balance, have this with spicy grilled chicken and you'll be happy.
