Piedmont Pinot. Saracco’s 2013 Pinot Nero is a fascinating introduction into Pinot Noir from Piedmont. Admittedly, there’s no way I would call this Pinot Noir blind. It screams Piedmont with its distinctively rustic notes of potted plant, leather, black cherry, and rose petal, with a spicy herbaceousness. Barbera would have been the easy call.

Jan 11th, 2020Nice caramel notes, a little young but pleasant burgundy flavors. Decant for a little extra oomph. Easy to drink.
