My Peruvian wine that is not Pisco. Borgoña. Caramel on the nose. Sweet and syrupy on the palate. One sip is enough.

Sweet wines are not my thing, this was this only Peruvian wine we could find for a Peruvian meal. Would taste better chilled. I am transported to my Polish grandmas house smelling this wine (vodka, garlic, musty 1950s carpet). Super musty. Medium bodied, semi-sweet as advertised. Lots of strawberry. Would be good with dessert though. At least it was only $10

Too sweet! Light. More like grape juice than wine. Not my favorite. :-(

The color is that of dark cherry with a purple rim. Borgona is the Peruvian varietal known as Isabela or Concord in the US. Matches well with spicy and sweet-sour dishes and seasoned meats and pasta.
