Calmarossa Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese Nerello Cappuccio

A very small production of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio from an ancient vineyard on the slope of a crater of Mount Etna. Minerality at it best and elegance.

Very young with tart red fruit (cranberry and raspberry) and some herbal/tobacco notes. Quite round in the mouth with medium tannins and acidity. The second day the tartness was less prevalent. Good but was perhaps expecting more.
